The first two scores Igor Stravinsky composed for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes heralded the beginnings of a partnership that would span 20 years and eight ballets. Under the baton of Klaus tennstedt, the London Philharmonic Orchestra conjures Stravinsky's magical world of Petrushka, a clownish puppet to life and an enchanted forest, home to an evil demon-king, an intrepid prince and the mysterious Firebird.
