    Colourful chunky beads made from repurposed Kantha textiles are strung along with tiny brass beads. A versatile statement piece, this necklace is to be worn long or doubled up. 

    Each piece is sustainably handmade by artisan women in India, repurposing Kantha textiles by covering reclaimed wooden beads. Fabric colours and patterns will vary making your necklace one-of-a-kind.

    Measures 91 cms long with a 5 cm extender

    Kantha is a centuries-old tradition of stitching patchwork cloth from rags, which evolved from the thrift of rural women in the Bengali region.

    Gorgeous colours

    I alreaady have a Kantha necklace in shades of blue and green; this long one is mostly reds with some yellow. Lovely colours and I like the brass links but it is advertised as being wearable as either a single strand or doubled. In fact when doubled it would go round my arm but not my head, so it is not as adaptable as I had hoped. I considered returning it for this reason but the gorgeous colours won me over.
